International Piano Fest 2017

We are proud to announce that this year is the fourth time the International Piano Fest is organized, it will be held on November 19-24. The festival programs are held in three locations.

Two pianists, Tami Kanazawa from Japan and Yuval Admoni from Israel will be holding a masterclass from November 20-23 at the Music School in Subotica. Talented pupils from the elementary and secondary music school, students and young concert pianists may come and participate in these classes. The course will provide young pianists with a chance to develop their technical skills and their stylistic knowledge, as well as do study a given piece thoroughly so as to widen the participants’ knowledge of piano literature including in-depth discussion of the work’s aesthetic aspects. Moreover, the masterclass presents an excellent opportunity for meeting other pianists, for networking and expanding their professional contacts.

The evening programs will be held at two venues: the Modern Art Gallery and the Great Hall of the Subotica City Hall. In terms of variety, this program is spread across a wide spectrum. The audience will be able to enjoy solo performances, concerts for four hands, two-piano concerts, as well as evenings of song and piano recitals. The performers include young artists, but also world-famous artists and university professors. On opening night, on November 19, the piano duo Yuval Admoni–Tami Kanazawa will take to the stage. The following days will see concerts by János Palojtay from Hungary, Eva-Maria Weinreich and Tomohito Nakaishi, who are in fact the FourTe piano duo from Germany, as well as Massimo Perciaccante and Sara Dominici from Italy. Among the performers are also Jelena Bajić Bojanić and Julija Bal, as well as the piano duo made up by Miljana and Marko Đorđević. Further, there will be solo recitals by Nikola Zdravković and Iris Kobal, both from Serbia. Subotica’s audience will also be able to enjoy a song and piano concert by Mariann Kerényi and Zita Somogyvári.

Despite the fact that this year we have been forced to organize this festival with the tightest budget yet, we have managed to compile a versatile and high-quality series of events. We are grateful to all artists who accepted our invitation to perform on our stage, we are also grateful to our supporters who recognized the value and importance of these concerts and made it possible for Subotica’s audience to enjoy great piano performances every evening, in venues where this has not been possible in Subotica before. – said Noémi Görög, the artistic director of the festival.
